Professional Biography

Musculoskeletal Science, Infectious Diseases

My career focuses on the health and well-being of the equine athlete and I have worked in four countries on three continents. I received my veterinary degree from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, after which I gained equine internal medicine specialty training at Texas A&M University and equine surgery specialty training at New Bolton Center, University of Pennsylvania. I did my PhD research in regenerative medicine as it relates to articular cartilage using RNA-sequencing at The Gluck Equine Research Center, University of Kentucky.

My primary role now is to connect the University with equine industry stakeholders through outreach and the dissemination of information.

Current Research

  • Collaborator in Musculoskeletal Science group exploring bone biology and remodeling.
  • Deriving data set estimating breeding stock weight.
  • Effect of antibiotics on gut microbiome.
